Hoping to show nature being incredible, but in-
context and in-reach of anyone who seeks it.
Hoping to inspire a future where us-humans are
better-connected with nature, for our benefit, as
well as nature’s, through greater understanding,
day-to-day consideration, and growing support.
Welcome to
JustOutThere
A responsible nature photography
venture, sharing native wildlife &
supporting conservation.
Hi, I’m Morwin
I work full-time, un-paid, for
conservation; to help our nature.
Alongside, I made JustOutThere to
share our great nature that I’m in
awe of; to be a gateway for others.
I’m proud to work for the RSPB on a year-
long internship, from Spring 2022, after 1
½ years volunteering for conservation
however I could.
..unpaid still, we all need to feed
ourselves, so any funds from photo sales
will directly support my frugal
conservation lifestyle; & help me share
more great nature with you all here!
I packed-in my comfortably-paid engineering
profession late 2019 to, somehow, figure-out a
sustainable nature-focussed life-plan - to live
predominantly outdoors & hoping my life might
achieve a net positive impact on the natural world
that I love, with ever-growing concerns for nature’s
future alongside us.
Through 2020’s restrictions I immersed myself in
exploring and better understanding my surrounding
nature in fine detail - for joy and wellbeing, whilst
almost neurotically learning out of pure fascination.
I grew competence as an amateur naturalist; with
photography as my tool to discover and learn, and
to share, for others to take value.
With 1 ½ years of volunteering for Kent Wildlife
Trust alongside, I’m stoked to have now secured a
conservation internship with the RSPB based in NE
Scotland - my gateway into paid work and fulfilling
my original mission for a sustainable future
focussed on helping nature, hurray!
…though, still unpaid until Spring2023, the process
is long and challenging, but I find it brilliantly
rewarding and fulfilling! Conservation is worryingly
under-funded, but fundamenally necessary and
worthy of every effort and support! We all benefit
from nature, whether recognised or not.
I hope to build recognition, appreciation and pure
joy for our fantastic native nature through
photography, filming and blogs; and encourange
conservation volunteering (because it’s a great,
uplifting thing to do!); and support my own
voluntary conservation internship, selling photos for
food-money!
What is JustOutThere?
Supporting nature & people in
nature. Sharing nature that is Just
Out There, in-reach of anyone who
seeks it but so often overlooked;
hoping to inspire and be a gateway
for people’s own explorations of the
natural world.
Supporting conservation directly
through photography and film,
including, so far:
•
Photo-monitoring projects to offer
greater insight into nature’s
unknowns; assisting in conservation of
endangered species.
I’ve been priviledged to closely monitor and
support Kentish Milkwort - some endangered
but incredible, tiny native plants, only known to
exist on a hanful of sites in Kent. Re-introduced
from the brink of disappearance by the Species
Recovery Trust and Kent Wildlife Trust.
•
Conservation charities have full & free
access to my photography.
I’m happy if nature benefits from me, whether
directly through conservation work or offering
my skills beyond - nature needs all the help we
can offer it! Offering free work quickly outweighs
even large monetary contributions, and I’d
encourage anyone to offer all they can!
•
I’m creating short films and blogs to
showcase conservation and raise
greater support; and to encourage
people to volunteer for conservation.
It’s just a great and worthy thing to do, and the
best way to learn and experience the incredible
nature around us! Nature benefits, and us-
humans benefit from a nice day out, a good
deed, and a future where nature might thrive &
celebrate us.
My Photography
I’m a photographer just to share the
world that inspires me, for others to see
what I’m able to see.
I love the natural world, whether
huge landscapes or the tiniest of
nature’s goings-on; fuelled by
intrigue I go to great lengths to
reach & enjoy great nature.
…………………………………………………………………….
My lenses are old, c.1970s & 80s, some of
the best ever made, but fully manual
heritage equipment, and hands-on to use!
“I really have to watch nature very
closely to take these photos and
film, by manual photography & 1
photo per shutter-press. The blink of
a tiny wren’s eye is nestled in my
memories as well as a photograph.”
I whole-heartedly treasure such special
interactions with nature, and I hope this
shows”
