The Joy of volunteering for conservation!
What is volunteering for conservation? And why whatever reason draws you in, it’s brilliantly rewarding and something everybody can and
should try, for the good of the natural world, but above-all our own benefit!
My progress and struggle finding my way to paid work in Conservation!
From a well paid engineering job to years of unpaid work and uncertainty, seeking a means of sustainable lifestyle where I’m able to live &
work into the future with a net positive imapct on the natural world, amidst very present and real fears for nature on our doorstep and all
across our planet as our human impact continues to grow.
I hope to give some insight and advice for others looking to leave their line of work to pursue a conservation careers, as I know many would
love to contribute but the process seems so inaccessible. I’d like to shed light to the process, the good times, the struggles and the sacrifices
necessary to pursue a good cause!
Pro Photography with 40 year-old kit!
The joys of cameras and lenses from the golden era of hand-made, fully manual photography, and how to use brillinat heritage lenses on
modern cameras that rival the best lense of today for a tiny fraction of the price! Photography is seen as inaccessible without a fortune -
that’s just not true!!
Using the most perfectly engineerd kit from 1970s & 1980s, I can only hope that my photos might somehow be on par with what the pro’s of
the day could do, so why do we need the latest kit? Laziness mainly, but gaining the old skills is far more rewarding in the long run, and I
hope to show why!
